The Government of Nagaland have allotted the Government buildings and youth hostels for conducting Tourism, Hotel Management, Catering Technology and other job oriented courses for the benefit of young boys and girls from Nagaland. The Government of Nagaland has been approached for allowing the civil hospitals and animal husbandry campus to be used by “The Global Open University. Nagaland for conducting Theory and Practical classes of UG, PG and other research programmes. As of now “The Global Open University (TGOU), Nagaland” have 30 Departments for conducting different programmes including Doctoral, Master's, Bachelor's, Diploma and Post Graduate Diploma Programmes in the field of IT, Management, Engineering, Paramedical, Hospitality and Tourism etc.

In continuation of its primary objective of increasing access to higher education, “The Global Open University (TGOU), Nagaland” has pioneered the latest concept of Technology Enabled Learning (TeL) and this mode of education empowers the student for anywhere, anytime education that offers M.Phil, Master's, Bachelor's, Diploma and Post Graduate Diploma Programmes in the field of IT, Management, Engineering, Paramedical, Hospitality and Tourism etc. The focus area is the community which can not pursue higher education due to their constraints of geography, time, economy or social status. All courses offered by “The Global Open University (TGOU), Nagaland are as per the Nomenclature specified by University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi that makes these courses universally acceptable.

“The Global Open University (TGOU), Nagaland" revises its curriculum periodically as per the industry requirements and offers latest subjects and technologies empowering the students to get the latest skills to be employable. Learning Resource Provider also has industry tie ups with different Multinational Companies, Banks, Financial Institutions, Hotels & Restaurants, Hospitals, Clinics and other establishments to give hands-on industry exposure to the students. “The Global Open University (TGOU), Nagaland" offers a unique multi entry and multi exit system called the pyramid structure of the course under a system wherein a 10+2 student after going through one year of UG programme can take a diploma and exit or continue with the graduation degree. The Diploma students can enter the same system after some time from where they had left. Such admissions are termed as credit transfer. The same mechanism works for Post Graduate courses.
